Few hours from the damning allegations by Aliko Dangote, the Chairman of Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency, NMDPRA, Faruk Ahmed has stepped down from his position.
Reports from the state house indicated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu already named the replacement of the embattled government officials.
Earlier this week, a video went viral in which Business Mogul Aliko Dangote challenged Faruk Ahmed on source of the money with which he sponsored the studies of his children abroad.
Thereafter, the Africa's richest person petitioned ICPC demanding investigation of Ahmed's source of money, alleging that the NMDPRA Chairman's expenses do not tally with his income.
President Tinubu has forwarded the name of Engineer Saidu Aliyu Muhammed to the Senate for approval as new NMDPRA Chairman.
In the meantime, the Chairman of Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission l, NUPRC, Gbenga Komolafe has resigned his position, and the President has forwarded his replacement to the Senate for approval.
